Catholic School Inspection

At St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School, our Catholic faith is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the Gospel and our mission of 'Inspiring Lives', we strive to ensure that every member of our community grows spiritually, academically and personally in a nurturing Catholic environment.

Catholic schools are inspected under the Catholic Schools Inspectorate (CSI) framework, often referred to as the Section 48 Inspection. This inspection evaluates how effectively a school fulfils its Catholic mission and supports the faith development of its pupils.

The inspection focuses on three key areas:

• Catholic Life and Mission – how the school's Catholic identity and mission are lived out each day.
• Religious Education – the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in Religious Education.
• Prayer and Liturgy – how prayer and worship enable pupils and staff to grow in faith.

Our Most Recent Inspection

St John Henry Newman Catholic Primary School was inspected by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate on 12–13 November 2025.

We are delighted that the school was judged to be Good in all areas, recognising the strong Catholic ethos that underpins our school community and the dedication of our pupils, staff, governors, parish and families in living out our shared mission.

The inspection recognised the school's commitment to nurturing pupils who are compassionate, respectful and active members of their community, alongside the high priority given to Religious Education and the central role of prayer and liturgy within school life.
